Walking Program Lifelong Recreation 

Enjoy the great outdoors in the company of others who love to walk! For more information, contact our new Sound Steps Recreation Specialist Jill Ellison at 206-684-4664, sound.steps@seattle.gov.

Lincoln Park Sound Steps Walks
Mondays, 10 – 11:15 am Lincoln Park

FREE 3 miles, some hills, natural and paved surface trails along Puget Sound. Moderate pace. Meet at the south end of the north parking lot.

Sound Steps Bird Walks
Friday, May 8, 9am - 4pm Des Moines to Nisqually
Friday, June 5, 9am -4pm Kent Valley

 Enjoy a guided day of bird watching! Carpool from Jefferson CC. Bring cash for your driver ($.25 per mile divided by # of passengers) and money for lunch out. Trips subject to cancellation due to weather. Contact Jill to register or receive bird walk updates.

Walk of Champions
$8 entry / $18 with t-shirt or hat
Saturday, June 27, 7am - 1pm, Jefferson Park

Choose your own distance for this “Grand Finale” to our Spring Training program! Walk up to a 13.1 mile half marathon using the mile paved walking loop at Jefferson Park. The event features beautiful city views, snacks, prizes, and a medal. Register by 6/25 online, or by contacting Jill.

Attic Secret Tea House $17 + fee
Thursday, May 7, 11am - 4pm

Enjoy the Serenity Presentation which will include teas, scones, 3 tea sandwiches, bundt cake, and a treat of the day. This is the oldest tea house in Marysville. Please have the exact amount of $20.22 with you.

Rainier Symphony $10 + fee
Sunday, May 17, 2:15 - 5pm

Enjoy Symphony #1 “Spring,” Gioachino Rossini’s Barber of Seville Overture and Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E Minor. Bring $12 to pay for the performance.

Rhodies and Gallery $22 + fee
Thursday, May 21, 3-8pm

First stop, Federal Way Rhododendron Garden. Bring $8 general admission fee, or $5 admission fee for those 65+ with ID. Next, on to Tacoma Art Museum for the new addition of the Haub Family American West exhibit (free admission). Dinner on your own.

Musical: Legally Blonde $17 + fee

The humorous yet inspiring tale follows Elle Woods, her superficial exterior hides a determined soul with the savvy to get her way and a surprisingly sharp wit. She takes up Harvard Law, teaching the intellectual elite a thing or two. Ticket price is $20 to Mary 2 weeks prior to performance.
